Q:  Do i need to setup an appointment?
A:  No appointments are necessary but highly recommended. Because we offer first come first serve basis, you can schedule a time to stop by with your computer as if you were virtually in-line, submit ticket to setup an appointment.

Q:  What do you service in terms of computers?
A:  YY Computer offers wide range of services and repairs for both Mac and PC platforms, we support both hardware and software, from simple software installation/configuration to no power, no boot up, dropping, spill damage, LCD screen repair, data recovery..etc. you name it, we fix it!

Q:  Do you charge to diagnose computer problems?
A:  Yes. In order to provide our clients accuracy estimation of repair, it has to go through in-depth diagnostic, which may take hours. We don’t believe 5-minute checkup or “guesstimate” because often unforeseen issue a is serious matter, so is misdiagnosis that ended up costing clients more than what should have been.

Q:  What are your diagnostic fees?
A:  Although we charge a fee for diagnosis, but we will count it towards the repair as credit if you opt for repair when we have diagnostic results, in other words diagnosis is FREE when repair is opted.

Q:  Do you accept mail-in repair if i’m not from the Bay Area?
A:  Yes we offer same in store services to mail-in clients, please create ticket online for arrangement prior sending your device.

Q:  Do i need to provide my power AC adapter, keyboard, mouse or OS installation discs?
A:  Usually not. However, if the issue you are experiencing is related to powering or charging the computer, you should include the AC adapter. There is no need to include power cable, original discs or anything else for Desktop Computer service & repair.

Q:  Do you offer price match for sales or services?
A:  While we don’t offer price match, we always work upon the best interest of our customers and ensure to provide the most cost effective repair possible.

Q:  What is your repair turnaround time?
A:  Our typical turnaround for most repair services is about 2 or 3 business days. Actual repair turnaround time can be vary, extent of damage as well as availability and cost of replacement parts. We also offer Expedite rush service for clients who desire the top priority repair.

Q:  What is your Expedite service? When should I expect my repair be ready?
A:  We understand that being without computer can be a challenge, and that downtime can be costly to your business or lifestyle. In order to better serve customers needing immediate assistance, our “Expedite” repair rush service puts your work order to the front of the repair queue where it will be our technician’s top priority until it is completed. Please understand that as with any repair service, actual completion time of a rush service repair may vary and could be delayed by data transfer or recovery, parts availability, or other issues beyond our control.

Q:  What does it mean when you say ‘Business days?’ does this include weekends and holidays?
A:  When YY Computer provides estimated repair completion times such as “next day”, “overnight” , etc. We are referring to our business days, Monday through Saturday. Sunday and any holiday are exception of business days.

Q:  How do you transfer data that has been successfully recovered from a failed hard drive or computer?
A:  With data no more than 10GB, we can transfer data that has been successfully recovered onto DVD discs or back to computer with new OS and/or hard drive installed. Otherwise, with large size of data, clients shall provide us any re-writable storage device, we also do have USB flash drives, and external USB drives for sale.

Q:  Do you repair Video Game systems?
A:  Nope, we no longer offer services to gaming consoles in order to focus on our main specialty of Mac & PC repairs and IT consulting.

Q:  Do you repair Iphone, Ipad, or tablets?
A:  Unfortunately, we no longer offer services to iPhone, iPad, Smart-phones..etc to focus on our main specialty of Mac & PC repairs and IT consulting.

Q:  Do you offer warranty for repair?
A:  Most of our Hardware services & repairs come with a limited 90-day parts and labor warranty. Many new replacement parts, such as hard drives or memory, typically carry a 1-year or longer warranty directly from Manufacturer as well.

Q:  What types of payment do you accept?
A:  We accept cash, business checks and all major credit cards as well as Android Pay and Apple Pay. Currently, we do not accept personal checks.
